Description

This grey sealant is an automotive‑grade RTV (room temperature vulcanising) silicone gasket maker/sealant designed for use in engine assemblies, gearboxes, timing covers, valve covers, thermostat housings, and other mechanical joints. Ideal for tight bolt patterns, high torque loads, and where a durable, flexible seal is required.

Application Instructions (general):

1. Clean and dry all mating surfaces; remove old gasket material, oil/grease.

2. Apply a continuous even bead of sealant around the flange, avoiding bolt holes if required. permatex.com

3. Assemble parts, initially tighten bolts finger‑tight until sealant begins to squeeze out.

4. Allow initial seal to set (about 1 hour typical) then retighten bolts fully. Full cure typically 24 hours (varies with temperature/humidity). permatex.com

5. After cure, exposed surfaces can be cleaned and excess trimmed if needed.
